About this Lesson

In this Shared Private Lesson, limited to just five attendees, Jerry Cortez will teach you his techniques for achieving the signature Tower of Power sound, essential to today’s R&B, funk and urban soul music. Jerry will take it slow at first then gradually build up toward performance tempo, and will cover the guitar solo in great detail. Jerry will also share his real-life studio experiences, as he navigated through the challenges of this tune. Finally, Jerry will share with you the gear list that he used for this tune, as well as the gear list for TOP’s last two albums. Since the lesson is small and live, you are assured of personal, one-on-one coaching directly with Jerry.

Lesson Details

Jerry will provide you a transcription for the song, Look In My Eyes, just as he plays it on Tower of Power’s recent album. He will also provide a chord chart, excerpts of rhythm guitar comping, and the slide guitar part. All parts will be active inside the lesson window and are yours to keep.

All levels welcome, and be sure to bring your guitar! Nothing else required.
